Funky Pigeon (eCommerce)
Build people capability for rapid expansion
Funky Pigeon had rapid expansion plans that required improvement in their tech and digital capability. Internal recruitment resource was stretched and lacked specialist expertise of digital/tech hiring. External technology consultants had become expensive requiring better cost management. The solution We embedded a Senior Talent Partner into the business to turbo boost hiring. This included an analysis of existing skills/capability gaps to devise the best sourcing strategy. In addition to this we suggetsed improvements to advert copy/role profiles & compensation to optimise candidate attraction. The Senior Talent Partner leveraged their extensive network & sourcing expertise to identify and attract top talent for Funky in a highly cometitive talent market. We were also able to share recruitment metrics to help FP better manage its forecasting and hiring plans. The results Yohrs successfully recruited 21 specialist tech & digital roles which included Software Developers, UX/UI Designers, Product Oweners & Digital Analysts and saved FP over £147,000 compared to agency model. This enabled the planned growth and the HR Manager was delighted to acheive key recruitment metrics.

EB Charging/Blink Charging UK (eMobility)
Strengthen people function and build people capability to enable future growth
EB Charging had recently been acquired by a US company (Blink) with ambitious plans to grow market share in the clean tech space. To meet the growth targets, the company needed to hire a number of key roles at pace without compromising on quality or candidate experience. Talent acquisition process was minimal in the absence of an ‘in house’ recruitment team requiring external expertise to design & embed new process, recruitment collateral, hiring manager upskilling & salary/reward benchmarking. The solution Yohrs worked on site with the Senior Leadership Team to understand business/people challenges. We came up with a plan to balance hiring at pace with the need to bring in people with the right behaviours and values. Our experienced recruiters embedded into the Blink HR team and introduced recruitment practices to create market leading talent processes which were bespoke to Blink. We also ran management training to embed new processes and to ensure consistency/positive candidate experience. The results Yohrs successfully hired 49 roles enabling the planned business growth. By improving the candidate touchpoints, there was more clarity on roles, responsibilities and career pathways, improving employee attrition rates & engagement scores. Our embedded model added value across the entire talent acquisition process while saving the buinness a massive £452,000 compared to agency model. WHSmith (Retail)
Hire priority roles in WHSmith travel and improve candidate selection & assessment process
WHSmith needed to strengthen their commercial leadership team and ensure future hires aligned to company vision & values. The solution Yohrs created new job advert copy to increase relevant applicant numbers. We also networked, mapped and screened external talent to create the best candidate shortlists. The business were looking for a HR partner to provide ad hoc HR advice & create/embed legally compliant HR processes. Their preference was for a more personalised service with a dedicated HR partner. The solution Yohrs conducted an HR audit of existing documentation to ensure the basics were in place. We reviewed & updated their employement contracts and provided HR advice for ER matters as they arose. Executive search for their next MD
Davall's UK MD was on secondment from MTI and due to return to the US leaving a vacant position with no internal succession. This coincided with PE investors looking to drive innovation and increase revenues calling for a highly strategic individual with an appetite to drive change. The solution Yohrs were the chosen partner for the search and spent time at discovery stage to really understand the brief. We spoke to key stakeholders both in the UK and overseas to define critical requirements/assessment process before embarking on a full market map of potential talent. This enabled us to provide key data on salary/benefits and candidate suitability.
